Rediscover the 'joys of the table'
by sampling the delightful cuisine of the area which uses exclusively DOC olive oil
from the Sabine region.

At meal time, owner Signora Anna, knows exactly how to whet the appetites of her guests - by starting them off with her fresh white bread and olive bread
both made
by hand on the premises and served
either freshly sliced or toasted in the
typical Italian 'bruschetta' style.

Next come the appetizer vegetarian appetizers with au gratin vegetables,
eggplant croquettes, cheese in piquant sauce, fritters made with greens
and 'coratella' of lamb (pluck) with artichokes.

The menu continues with first courses all made by hand and according to the old traditions. Don't forget to try the pasta and beans , pasta and chickpeas , and the crepes with nettles home made pasta and filled with ricotta cheese and wild nettles. There is also "fettuccine alla Vecchia Quercia" with porcini mushroom sauce , fettuccine with porcini mushrooms , and fettuccine with truffles . Some of the more unique pasta dishes are agnolotti pasta that are filled with wild boar and served with tomato sauce , stringozzi pasta served on wooden tray (the scifetta) which enhances its flavor,
and polenta
which is served on the same sort of wooden paddle and comes
with your choice of various sauces and accompaniments.

Your choice of second courses includes a variety of grilled meats that range from the famous 'scottadito' seared lamb to locally raised veal, as well as roasted lamb, chicken, duck and suckling pig served with potatoes. Wild game dishes include boar 'in sami' (cooked in oil, wine, vinegar and herbs) served with fried polenta and broccoli, thrush cooked on skewers or "in salmi",
and pork with truffles.
